About this listen

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Sam and John set off an interrailing/eurail trip across Europe. Their route took them from Berlin to Warsaw and through Hungary to Bucharest. They didn't make their planned destination of Istanbul as they found that Eastern Europe was now what the embassy called "The Wild East". This is Sam's record of their trip. "It reads like some horror novel and by the sound of it Sam and his companion were lucky to escape at all. Its a long story but after 3 pages you'll get the idea - very organised gangs of thieves, all his property stolen, jumping off moving trains to get away, seeking shelter in Police stations etc, etc. Well it scared me." by Whitelavender Europe Travel Writing & Commentary
