About this listen

Seventeen-year-old Ezren Hart interns in her mother’s terraforming lab, studying Belethea’s deadly storms with the dream of giving her backwater planet open teal skies. But when budget cuts threaten to shut down her mother’s lab, Ezren enters Belethea’s Race Royale, the system’s deadliest and most lucrative race. To win, she’ll have to run, drive, and fight her way across Belethea’s barren landscape while navigating its savage and volatile storms. With her planet’s future, and her family’s, on the line, she can’t afford to lose. But first, she’ll have to convince her handsome royale partner that their planet is worth saving.

Foster Sterling is a jaded ex-prodigy royaler still reeling from his partner’s death in a training accident. When Ezren Hart comes charging into his life, her passion reminds him of what he once loved about racing and his dream of returning pride to their planet. Still, no matter how fast they go, they can’t outrun the mysterious string of deadly accidents following them like a curse. As Foster falls harder for Ezren, he races to piece the clues together. But with time running out and their survival on the line, he’ll have to decide if their dreams are worth their lives.Earth was tame. Belethea is not.

Perfect for fans of underdog heroes, slow burn romance, and high stakes sci-fi, INTO THE CHURN races across a new planet of savage storms and dazzling tech. Fall in love with Ezren and Foster as they battle side-by-side to save their scrappy world on a ruthless interplanetary stage where appearances are everything, speed means survival, and the only thing deadlier than the storms are the other racers.

Fast-Paced

Into The Churn was an exciting fast-paced read. I found myself looking for opportunities to listen to the audiobook outside my normal times. This book had the perfect formula of action, loveable characters, and romance to be a winner for me. It has joined a short list of one of my sci-fi fantasy favorites tied with The Illuminae Files.

Sci-fi and a crazy race.. count me in

This was great fun and the narration of the audiobook was great and captivating. It was easy to follow and stay on track with the story. The narrator was able to give good distinctions and voices between characters. The storyline was progressive and the pacing of the story was great and not too fast or out of sync. The characters were easy to love and I really enjoyed the futuristic world they were in.

Great story with AMAZING narration!!

I've read the book and loved it so when I saw the audio I thought I'd give it a shot. The narrator and production blew me away! There is a deadly race/competition across the surface of a beautiful planet with insane weather conditions, political intrigue, and one of the swooniest romances I've read in the YA genre. If you love YA sci-fi, definitely give this a listen.

So good I was smiling in public

Warning: listening to this audiobook is so fun that you might look crazy as you smile along in public 🤪.

Seriously though, I’ve missed listening to audiobooks! This one was incredible, with a gripping plot, an entertaining romance, and a mystery that hovers above it all. Plus, there were plenty of sound details taken to account. If tech was malfunctioning, there were sound effects. If multiple characters spoke a line in unison, there were multiple voices doing so.

Pretty much the only problem I had was that I thought the actress read a little slow, so I listened to the whole thing on 1.2x speed and I found that to be perfect. The problem was fixable, so is it really even a problem? I think not.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I liked “Into the Churn” so much that I’m probably purchasing an Audible subscription just to listen to the sequel, and hopefully the third book comes out as an audiobook as well!
