 In Japan Halloween has no religious overtones. These days, it is mainly viewed as a cosplay event. 毎年10月31日の夜に行われるハロウィンには、本来、秋の収穫を祝い、悪霊などを祓う宗教的な意味がありました。
日本では1990年代後半から、東京ディズニーランドなどのテーマパークで、ハロウィンイベントが行われていました。
けれども、日本のハロウィンには宗教色は皆無。現在は、もっぱらコスプレイベントと化しています。
現在のように仮装をした人々が町なかで大騒ぎをするようになったのは、2010年前後からだといわれています。
関東では、東京の渋谷や六本木、神奈川県の川崎のハロウィンイベントが有名で、近年の日本では、ハロウィンは記念日イベントとしては、クリスマスに次ぐ経済効果をもたらしています。©2017 KODANSHA English Language Learning
