箸は、日本食には欠かせない食器の一つ。料理を食べる時だけでなく、調理する時にも使います。
日本の家庭では、家族のそれぞれが自分専用の箸を持っているのが普通です。
日本では子どもの時から箸を使いますが、正しい使い方を覚えないまま大人になってしまった人も、たまに見られます。

日本人は手先が器用だといわれるのは、箸を使う民族だからとする説もあるようです。
