I don’t like sad endings. But there was also hope in that. Even though things happen, death happens, what we do while we love brings inspiration to all those around us.

Loved the Hope given to the children

We loved it. My students were inspired to take on some injustices as well and it gave us relevant information about today's world.

We've listened to this twice now. I think I've enjoyed listening as much or more than I would have enjoyed reading it. It will be the next read for my book club.

This is the story of a Pakistani boy who was killed for standing up against forced labor and indentured servitude of children and poor people. Told through the eyes of a young girl who was chained to a carpet loom beside him, the story explains how children end up in such factories, how they live, how they are treated. It also shows the corruption of the society that would allow such injustice to go unchecked. The narrator does a fantastic job of maturing with the first person point of view, as well as voicing various characters in the story. She also manages to capture the foreign sights, sounds and diction of Pakistan without stereotyping.

This Story Needs to Be Told
