About this listen

A triple homicide in a restaurant—just another workday for Detective Mario DeLuca.

Join Detective Mario DeLuca and his partner, Howard Blitz, as they go deep into the streets of New Orleans to solve a triple homicide in one of the city's restaurants.

Mario battles with his own demons while investigating the crime and trying to comprehend the tragedy. He also takes a stroll down memory lane to visit an old neighbor from his youth, discovering secrets held by Irish Bayou.

At the same time, he is comforted by both Howard's and his own tenacity and kindness. The two detectives are excellent at what they do and brilliant when working together: whether bickering or bantering, they make up a great duo. Despite moments where their choices may cross the line of legalities, Mario and Howard always have the best interest of the people of New Orleans in mind.

This thrilling novel brings together joy, sorrow, rage, revenge, love, and hope as it progresses and reveals the unexpected.

I don’t love the virtual voice narrations, but as they go this was not the worst I’ve heard. The story wasn’t bad, and had it been done by human narration, it would have made the story so much better.

Not bad
