Critic reviews

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." ( AudioFile magazine)

First 15:50 minutes tell a little bit about the author and how the course works and what you will get out of it. After that, it begins to teach you a few words and phrases in Irish. :) Definitely worth checking out!

Good starting point to see if you're serious about learning a new language or two

Good Starting Point

I spoke fluent Gaelic up to about 9 years old, I am ashamed to say I am struggling at 67. I do think the course could be structured a bit differently, but sounds rather than letters are important in Gaelic, but I will keep banging away at lesson 1. lol

this is a good intro lesson program. This is the first language lesson. that stumped me longer than other languages I did lessons by audio book. This is by no fault of Pimselur but maybe for some languages it would be helpful to have a better way to teach the beginning sounds of words. It took me till the end to be able to get the sound of the front of words for this Gaelic lesson. it was very hard to hear the tongue and lip placements. Maybe by breaking the words down more by pronouncing all the words by syllable for the intro lesson can help

this might be great for some people but I found this a horrible book. I couldn't hear some of the words at all. if I wanted to look like a complete fool I would give it a go but no thanks. don't waste your money.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This has ZERO material in Irish and is largely a promotional piece.

What was most disappointing about Pimsleur’s story?

It didn't match the title.

Would you be willing to try another one of the narrator’s performances?

No.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No.

Horrible! Don’t bother your time or money. Following the App duelingo much easier to understand- first 30 min of this is spent explaining the company-
