About this listen

The gloves come off in this electric exchange, originally hosted by Christianity Today, as leading atheist Christopher Hitchens (author of God Is Not Great) and Christian apologist Douglas Wilson (author of Letter from a Christian Citizen) go head-to-head on this divisive question. The result is entertaining and provocative—a glimpse into the ongoing debate.

Big fan of Hitchens

I'm a big fan of Hitchens, and I love to hear him debate. This is not a good reading of this debate. There are many better ways to see and hear it online (Youtube). I advise anyone, whether you find yourself on the side of Hitchens or Wilson or somewhere in between, to look for better copies elsewhere.

Hayes and almost like two ships passing in the night with only one communicating through Morse code or over the radio.

this is a intellectually stimulating book. sadly Christopher hitchens as he did most of the time in his arguments and debates with anybody he disagreed with but especially with those who were Christian, didn't really address the Christian or theistic perspective based on the arguments and evidence that they gave. however, Christopher hitchens was a highly intelligent and very entertaining character. the book is not necessarily a home run and it's certainly not a hole in one slam dunk somebody's going to go for an atheist to a Christian. but there are things to chew on presented from both sides as well as what they didn't engage with and chose to engage with instead. well worth the read.
