About this listen
The pack is a wreck, and everything is falling apart.
Libby can’t stand to watch her cousin let everything go, including his self-confidence. But when she stumbles upon a man near death, her priorities change as she realizes he is her mate. Libby will do anything to save him, even if it means betraying those close to her. She knows Fate wouldn’t be so cruel as to send her the other half of her soul, only to make her lose him.
When the local tribe realizes the dragon they thought was dead is not only alive, but possessed by a demon who wants nothing more than to rip their world apart, they band together to send the demon back to hell. Can the dragons forgive Libby’s deceit long enough to put their town back to rights, or will they take justice into their own hand?
Jaz knows he’s royally screwed up. Nothing can take back the pain he’s dealt out around him. When he wakes up to find himself still alive and in surprisingly good health, he takes it as a sign that he needs to do better, but when he finds out that the feisty little she-wolf who saved him is his mate, he doesn’t know what to do.
He’s never liked wolves, and he sure as hell never expected to be mated to one. But can he fight his attraction and overcome the odds that hold them apart, or the bigger question...Does he want to?

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

For some it’s an opportunity. For others it’s a moment to question their faith: In God, in science, in everything. Still others try to keep the world running in the face of absurdity and uncertainty. My First Book In This Series
I bought a copy of this eBook about two years ago but never read it as I had not read any of the previous books but when I was given this audio version I decided to give it a go. I am so glad `I did. It is possible to listen to this book and enjoy it without having any previous knowledge of the characters.
The book starts with Libby, a wolf shifter, on her way to a cabin she planned to make ready for her cousin Dillon, the pack's new Alpha to use as a retreat. Suddenly she picked up a scent, a demon was nearby. Walking cautiously forward she found an injured man who smelled strongly of a demon, when she got closer she was stunned to discover that he was her mate but he wasn't a wolf, he was a dragon. He desperately needed help and as she couldn't take him home to the pack she took him to the cabin she had been preparing for her cousin.
Over the next three weeks, he remained unconscious, did dragons go into hibernation to heal? But the smell of the demon was gone. A Dragon had previously been reported to be working with a demon as an assassin and had already attacked dragons living close by. Was her mate this dragon?
Then his eyes opened and he pushed her away, sniffed the air and identified her as a wolf. As she was about to get more bandages, he attempted to follow, but a wave of dizziness stopped him. He didn't react to her touch as he normally would when confronted by a wolf, he assumed it was because she'd saved him. Upset by his reaction she left the cabin, saying she would return to check on him later if he was still there!
Jaz was confused by his reaction while his dragon tried to make him see sense, but he refused to listen to his beast. When Libby returned he finally admitted to himself that they were mates but he decided the best way to protect her was to deny their bond. When the dragons learned he had lived they would come for him. The demon could come back and attempt to possess him again, he refused to put her in that danger, she was his mate, and he would protect her!
There is a lot more to this story but I don't want to say more because of spoilers, what I will say is the story is exciting and well written. The narration is by Connor Brown is excellent, he brought all the characters to life and really added to my enjoyment of this story.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Action-packed paranormal romance......
JAZ by Sarah J Stone is the seventh book in the Stratham Shifters series. Although I could tell that I was missing some of the backstory, the author did a terrific job of making this book enjoyable as a standalone. This story had wolf shifters, dragon shifters, a witch, and a demon, so there were plenty of action and paranormal elements. Although the hero, Jaz, and the heroine, Libby, were fated mates, they were more insta-dislike than insta-love. They had to fight hard for their HEA, but that fight ended up adding a lot of feeling to the book as well as establishing the path for future books in the series. I enjoyed this book so much that I am going to start the series from the beginning.
Connor Brown does an amazing job with the narration of JAZ. His voice is deep, smooth and sexy - the perfect combination for a paranormal romance. He differentiated well between the characters, and he handled both the action and the steamy parts with equal skill.
I received a copy of this audio book from Audio Boom and the narrator in exchange for this honest review.

Last one for me.
A simple YA style series that tries to be more but doesn't have the framework to do it. Maybe if there was more fleshing out of the stories and characters, I would be more drawn in but sadly no. I good series for a younger audience that wants an easy listen.
