The hit series is back, to charm and inspire another generation of baby-sitters.
Jessi knows a secret language! She learned it from Matt Braddock, the BSC's newest charge. Matt's been deaf since birth, and he uses sign language to speak. Since Jessi is Matt's baby-sitter, she's been using sign language, too.
Soon all the kids in Stoneybrook want to learn to sign...which keeps the baby-sitters busy. Jessi's the busiest of all: she working on another secret just for Matt. Will she be able to keep the secret and pull off her special event?

5 out of 5 Ballet Shoes 🩰 🩰
I can’t remember if this made me cry as a child but I sure got all choked up as an adult.
This was a great introduction to Jessi. It does a great job of showing her kind heart, her passion for dancing and her feelings about adjusting to a new town and fitting in with new friends (and some who are judgmental at first.)
I also liked the focus on Matt’s sister, Halie, and her struggle with being the sister of a boy who is deaf. The eagerness to protect him but also feeling resentment.
I got all choked up at the end at Jessi’s ballet 🩰 recital. I was reminded a bit of Mr. Holland’s Opus.
Bahni Turpin did a great narration. She had Jessi sound like a preteen and then the voices for the adults were distinctly different.
I love this introduction to Jessi.
