About this listen

What if, suddenly, Jesus appeared on the streets of your city? That's the scenario of Jesus Is Here, Charles M. Sheldon's sequel to his classic novel In His Steps, the book that introduced the world to WWJW: "What would Jesus do?"

Years ago, members of the First Church of Raymond pledged to consider "What would Jesus do?" before taking any action, however large or small. Now, the Reverend Henry Maxwell and his congregation find themselves delving even deeper into the Christian life by experiencing the very presence of Jesus in their midst.

Jesus Is Here is a challenging, thought-provoking story, a reminder that the story of Jesus did not end on a cross two millennia ago but continues today. Join the church members of Raymond as they learn that Jesus is alive, here and now.

I found this story of Jesus inspiring and for me life changing. Charles Sheldon presents us with so much insight into the work of Jesus here on earth. Wonderful presentation.

Insightful

I did not find this book had the pacing or interest holding ability that In His Steps, the previous work contained. At times it tended to drag and the accents of the characters were distracting rather then helpfull. It was apparent that the current focus at the time of it's writing was alcohol abuse, the abuse of the workers by the wealthy and the need not to criticize church authority. Much in the mode of the Billy Sunday era. The book in my opinion is not as relevant to this decades problems and current view of what Jesus would do. This said, it is still worth hearing to gain a perspective of the writers thoughts in the time it was written.

Interesting, but written from another period

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narrative was concise and kept my interest. The narrator has a great reading voice. I also loved the “something to think about “ questions at the end of each chapter.. I will recommend this book.

The concept was good, and interesting but it progressed rather slowly and in my opinion could have taken on stronger character throughout. Over all it is well worth listening for anyone who will think it thru.

Interesting, but somewhat weak in progression.
