Editorial reviews

This is a guidebook to the practice and benefits of the Buddhist meditation technique of loving kindness. Jinananda deftly elucidates the benefits of overriding emotions, cultivating love, and differentiating emotions from feelings and reactions. With a subtle English accent he soothes listeners through a guided loving kindness meditation session. Listeners learn how to connect with the innate human capacity for joy and compassion. Jinananda's work is accessible to newcomers while retaining the high degree of sophistication found in Buddhist scholarship. Listeners are drawn into a practice that encourages "finding value in the moments between our practical affairs." Jinananda skillfully presents Buddhist meditation not as a religion or as dogma but as a technique that "points the way home.

A really enjoyable and thought provoking listen

Where does Jinananda: Meditation - The Buddhist Way rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very highly. This book is just what I was looking for.

What did you like best about this story?

The author is clear and informative and doesn't talk in that artificially soft voice wishy washy voice you get in a lot of books aimed at people trying to better themselves.

Which scene was your favorite?

All of it

What did you learn from Jinananda: Meditation - The Buddhist Way that you would use in your daily life?

Although it is a short book, it is packed with ideas to think about and practice excersises. I have already listened to its twice, and I expect I will listen to it many more times. There are useful meditations at the end of the book to help begginers like me get underway.

Any additional comments?

A very good introduction to Buddhism and meditation. Highly recommended
