Journey into Cyprus

... was extremely enlightening, not only for its historical facts, but also for the description of its people and environs. It took me back... as a child I was there before the 74 coup, and reflecting on how Apostlos Andreas, for example, Monastery was then, and how it stands now, made me both sad and connected to my homeland. A great read, passionate, descriptive, albeit through a colonial sounding Englishman narrator/ writer’s eyes. What a wonderful amalgamation of history and culture through the invaders and settlers the island of Cyprus is... and has become.
