About this listen

Following the death of her bullying husband, Etta Bancroft's selfish children move her to a village in the Cotswolds. One night, she discovers a filly, left to die in the snow. With help, Etta rescues the horse, and she and her friends form a syndicate to pay for her upkeep. As the horse recovers, she begins to show racing pedigree, so the syndicate enters her into a maiden hurdle - and are shocked at the result.

Filly Fun

This was quite a long audio book but it was never dull. There were lots of characters some sweat, some sexy, some obnoxious. Gerri Halligan did a good job with the voices making it a very easy book to listen to.

I stand corrected

After years of refusing to read Jilly Cooper after having friends reccomend it to me, I was suprised at how much I enjoyed this. Well narrated, and what a bunch of characters. But I particularly liked how the animals were bought to life in this novel.

Jumping over the top!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A book for animal lovers.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Jump!?

Some terribly over the top bedroom scenes.

Which character – as performed by Gerri Halligan – was your favorite?

Dora Belvedon is performed as a great combination of jolly hockey sticks enthusiasm and gutter journalist.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The book goes for 27 hours!

Any additional comments?

Jilly Cooper is low-brow fiction, but she has a huge heart. Nothing is more important to her than human kindness.

Extremely unlikable

Rarely do I listen to a book and not finish it but this one was one of those.

20 hours into the book and I finally gave up on the unpleasant characters, animal cruelty, questionable morals and continual negative events that befell animals and people.
