About this listen
It started like a whisper in a black void, unheard and unnoticed. The earth trembled beneath the canopy of ancient trees in an unpopulated region of South America, a low, throbbing hum that pulsed from the bedrock. Then, without warning, the skies turned a shade darker, an oppressive gloom creeping across the horizon.
The Jurassic Reset has begun.
In this book, you will journey through one single event that transpired on the fateful first days—a moment etched into the collective memories of those who survived, and forever lost to those who didn’t. What you are about to read is but a sliver, a tiny fragment in the vast ocean of chaos and carnage that swept across the Earth.
This is a standalone novel, you do not need to read any of the other books in this series to enjoy this book.
Excerpt: Then he saw it. At first, it was just a disturbance, a rippling wake that churned and cleaved its way through the black expanse. It cut toward the dinghy with dreadful precision, its purpose unmistakable. The wind howled around him, flinging icy droplets into the glass walls of the observation deck, but Jackson barely noticed anything other than the drama unfolding before him. Something was coming for the men...something large...something alive.
It was a dinosaur.
A real, honest to God dinosaur!
The described apocalypse was not only real, but it had arrived at their doorstep, ready to claim its first victims.
The sea erupted.
A geyser of water exploded upward, raining down in a deafening cascade. From within that furious spray emerged a form so colossal it defied reason, its shadow stretching out across the water and covering the dinghy in darkness. The creature rose with terrifying speed, a living sea monster of legend summoned from some prehistoric abyss. Water sheathed its sleek, muscular body, glistening in rivulets as it ascended. Its crocodile jaws, lined with rows of jagged, bone-crushing teeth, gaped wide enough to swallow the world. Jackson’s mind rebelled against the sight, screaming impossible! But no denial could save them now.
The great beast struck.

I give it a solid 3. The AI narration just sounds like a random person reading. No variation for voices but far better than a robotic voice. The story really should have begun about 1/3 of the way in when the author starts explaining a few things. Because in the beginning the rapid changes just seem silly and like the author is trying to fill out a BINGO card. I almost quit but I gave it a bit more and was glad I did.
