Just Eat It isn’t just a book. It’s part of a movement to help us take back control over our bodies. To free us from restrictive dieting, disordered eating and punishing exercise. To reject the guilt and anxiety associated with eating and, ultimately, to help us feel good about ourselves.

This anti-diet guide from registered nutritionist Laura Thomas PhD can help you sort out your attitude to food and ditch punishing exercise routines. As a qualified practitioner of Intuitive Eating – a method that helps followers tune in to innate hunger and fullness cues – Thomas gives you the freedom to enjoy food on your own terms.

There are no rules: only simple, practical tools and exercises including mindfulness techniques to help you recognize physiological and emotional hunger, sample conversations with friends and colleagues, and magazine and blog critiques that call out diet culture.

So, have you ever been on a diet? Spent time worrying that you looked fat when you could have been doing something useful? Compared the size of your waistline to someone else's? Felt guilt, actual guilt, about the serious crime of . . . eating a doughnut? You're not alone. Just Eat It gives you everything you need to develop a more trusting, healthy relationship with food and your body.

The audiobook of Just Eat It includes four bonus podcast episodes featuring the author, Laura Thomas PhD, RNutr, and a contributor per episode including Sofie Hagen, Natalie Lee (of StyleMeSunday), Tally Rye and Clemmie Telford.

If there is any subject in the world that deserves expletives... this is it!!

I’m so grateful to a young friend who pointed me in the direction of this book.
From the first page, I realised I was beginning a new road trip in my life which would begin taking me on a 180 degree turn from my at least 50 years together confusion and frustration about (and fear and loathing of) food, my body, fatness in general, ‘health’ exercise, who to believe about what I should be eating - and not trusting myself or my own body any more.

Laura has a PhD in nutrition but it’s her humanity that shines through this book for me.

Like so many of my generation and younger I have followed diets from Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins, the Bullet Coffee etc, and countless more through to more ‘enlightened’ low carb-healthy fats diets... all leading me eventually towards diabetes, self-loathing, anger, lack of trust and desperation.

Although I don’t see the need for using ‘swear’ words in my daily life, I have to admit that if there’s ever a subject that deserves every expletive that Laura lays on them, it is the whole diet, fitness, ‘healthy’ ‘clean’ ‘whole’ foods industry that has become sickeningly wealthy at our expense.

I’ve also bought the paper copy of Laura’s book because it will be easier to dive back in as I have questions, being able to mark those passages of particular importance to me.
If you, like me, have given up on ever gaining control of these aspects of your life, and want a fresh perspective that will challenge your current thinking in at least some areas of this wide topic, you cannot lose by listening to this book.
It is not a new diet. It is not more restriction. It is freeing. I listened to most of it as I drove towards a wee holiday and I’m excited to have found a new mental and emotional road trip that is slowly giving me back to ability and power to live my life the way I was born to live it. Not the way others tell me to live it. The power is not in anyone else’s hands ... even Laura’s. It’s in mine, and I fully embrace the challenges I will encounter as I face each new phase of this change within me.
Thank you Laura.

Imprescindible!

Creo que estas inmersa en una dieta o no, este libro es muy liberador y te abre los ojos ante un mundo dominado por la apariencia física y la cultura de la dieta. lo recomiendo 100%
