About this listen
Vic follows a simple code of life—when stuck between certain death and certain death, always chose a third option.
Ready to renounce his criminal ways, Vic needs to pull one last heist—transporting a rare and valuable albino friklar across a short section of space without detection. Easy money.
However, when the animal escapes on a primitive planet called Earth, Vic must either settle accounts with his boss—ruthless Axle Prim—or endure his wrath.
With a careful mix of charm, guile and old-fashioned skullduggery, Vic lures a hapless postal worker into a scheme that includes an edible form of dark matter, a half-mad spaceship, and a machine capable of verifying the existence of the soul. As the tangles unweave, Vic’s plan will either cost them both their lives or gain Vic everything he’s ever wanted.
If all goes well, he might just save the cat too....
A space adventure that is equal parts satire, Just Vic will have you in LOL induced stitches the whole way through.

Story
Breakfast of Champions (1973) provides frantic, scattershot satire and a collage of Vonnegut's obsessions. His recurring cast of characters and American landscape was perhaps the most controversial of his canon; it was felt by many at the time to be a disappointing successor to Slaughterhouse-Five, which had made Vonnegut's literary reputation.

Hilarious, fascinating, and a roller coaster of dizzying, historical what-ifs, Napoleon's Hemorrhoids is a potpourri for serious historians and casual history buffs. In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.

Absolutely loved the book! Kept me entertained the entire time. The narrator deserves 10 stars for that performance. So many different voices for all the different characters. Did an amazing job of bringing the book to life!

Coen Brothers in space
The book follows the misadventures of reluctant cohorts as they "quantum stumble" their way across the galaxy. They encounter one quirky character after another and the situations they find themselves in are alien (literally) but all too familiar.
The writing is tight and the dialogue is snappy. It reads like a fully developed Coen Brothers screenplay... if they did sci-fi.
The performance is as good or better than any I've heard on Audible. There are so many different characters in the book and the narrator does an excellent job of giving them each their own personality so it's always clear who is speaking, even in group conversations.
Highly recommend

Life out there
I found this book interesting. The storyline was pretty cool, following a trio as they make their way through obstacles. It was cool to listen to a different interpretation of life outside of Earth in feel so many books about extraterrestrial life are straight forward and boring and predictable, but this one had a certain aspect to it that made me question things. Why did the character make that decision? What would I have done if I were a certain character? My only critique, and really this is a personal issue was the pace of the narrator. I found myself having to change the speed to a slower pace so I could actually hear and absorb all the words.

The story came to life!!
One of my favorite things about this book was the detail to the character’s personalities and voices. I don’t think they could have been voiced more perfectly! The story itself was amazing and every time I had to find a stopping place all I thought about was getting back to the book! Any review you could list for this book will be 5 stars from me!

It is a hilarious journey with an exceptional narrator!
Have you ever started listening to a book and suddenly found yourself bent over a sink full of dishes, laughing out loud, drawing judgemental stares from your dogs? That's exactly what happened to me with “Just Vic.” This book is a delightful cocktail of humor, wit, and sheer storytelling brilliance.
Firstly, let's talk about the writing. The author’s knack for creating vivid, hilarious, and relatable characters is simply outstanding. Parker, the Earthikin, was brilliant! It’s honestly hard to choose a favorite character! The plot is engaging, with twists and turns that kept me hooked from start to finish. The humor is cleverly woven into the narrative, making it impossible to read (or listen to) without a smile on your face. I found myself chuckling at the most unexpected moments, and I'm sure anyone with a sense of humor will do the same. The character development was terrific, and each interaction made me smile or laugh at one point or another.
Now, let’s shine some light on the narrator. His voice work is nothing short spectacular. He doesn't just read the book; he performs it and clearly had a blast while recording. Each character comes alive with a unique voice, personality, and charm, making the listening experience more immersive and entertaining. I believe storytelling is an art, and the narrator took a well-written, hilarious story and made it more hilarious! I love it when that happens!!
The synergy between the author’s writing and the narrator's performance is a match made in audiobook heaven. The witty dialogues, the humorous scenarios, and the overall light-hearted tone of the book are perfectly complemented by the narrator's vibrant and dynamic interpretation.
This book was an experience filled with laughter that I didn't want to end. It is definitely worth listening to. Kudos to the author for writing such a fantastic story; I am excited to see what else he publishes! Fist bump to the narrator for making the story even more enjoyable.

Definitely a witty story
So the book was hard to get into at first for me. but once you get into it, it's fun. Vic is an interesting character that definitely develops well throughout the story. However, there are somethings tthat I felt weren't answered, but kt could come out in the next book. So, we will wait to see. The voice actor did a phenomenal job on this. He was spot on with voices and sounds.
