About this listen
Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Holt has spent over a decade fighting for justice, but when DNA evidence cracks a cold case will justice finally be served?
Someone is watching.
Just months from her college graduation, Elizabeth Holt is in love and her future is brighter than the sun. Days after the attack, Elizabeth emerges from a coma, but she is irrevocably changed. Compelled to find her attacker and find justice, she travels down a dark path that forces her to choose between love and her obsession—not just for herself, but other survivors.
Justice or vengeance...
Forced to choose between obsession and love, Elizabeth doggedly pursues justice for the victims of other crimes, while her attacker remains at large. Until finally she gets a call with the news shes been waiting twelve years for. But what Elizabeth learns could tear her life apart...

Good Crime Fiction
This is the first novella in the Holt Foundation Series, a mystery thriller. Elizabeth's story is heartbreaking, filled with angst, and intrigue. Justice or vengeance? This is a good Crime Fiction. Sara Hannan and Dryw McArthur did a great job bringing this story to life. #PFPAudio

A short listen
This is the second series I've started to listen to by Chris Patchell. I loved the first one, The Lacey James series. This one has grabbed my attention as well. It had a heartbreaking and frustrating storyline. We get a resolution, but not necessarily the one we hoped for. This was a short listen that was so full that I really can't say much without giving anything away. I wasn't ready for it to be over. I look forward to the next audiobook.
Sara Hannan and Dryw McArthur are new to me narrators. Both are EXCELLENT with easy to listen to voices that brought this audiobook to life with emotional performances. I hope to hear more from them in the future.

Excellent! Loved every second of it!
This is such a good book! I love every second and this makes me excited for this series. Ms Holt really brings the nitty gritty to share with us. I was enthralled with her story that goes back and forth from past to present. I really felt for her and her situation. I wanted the best for her and really hoped something would even out for her.
Listening to this I had forgotten the struggles from the 70-80s of women trying to break into the workforce and the general opinion that women are always “asking for it” so they are always responsible. Plus when DNA first came on the scene that it was great. It was also easily discounted because people were still untrustworthy of it.
What I love about the books by this author is that every second is filled with action, suspense and drama. She is one I look forward to her next. I did listen to this on audio. Sara Hannan and Dryw McArthur did a wonderful job bringing out all the emotions of these characters.

A harrowing story of a woman overcoming trauma
This Holt Foundation series is darker than her Lacey James thriller series. I usually don’t want to read thrillers with a rapist/serial killer, but since the brilliant Chris Patchell wrote this one, I enthusiastically said yes, and I was rewarded with a gripping, emotionally powerful story. Ms. Patchell has such a vibrant writing style that immediately immerses me into the minds of her characters. The author brings a compassionate and nuanced fictional portrait of the grief, trauma, and struggle of a survivor. The heroine is admirable in her tenacity to keep going after tragedy and try to make the world a little better with her wits and hard work. Trigger Warning: although the sexual assault is not described, the knife attack and trauma could be disturbing for readers; mature readers only.
This 3.5-hour-long novella provides a complete and satisfying suspense/thriller that can be read as a standalone. Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Holt became a lawyer to fight for justice for rape victims, after she herself barely survived an attack by a stranger. When new evidence brings to light her attacker’s identity, she remembers all of her awful experiences and struggles with vengeance versus justice.
The pair of narrators were both excellent in every way. The female narrator performed most of the chapters, those from the heroine's perspective. There were only a few chapters from the perspective of male characters, and the male narrator did a great job on them.
I requested and received a free audio copy via the publisher, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review. #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam #NorthernLakeAudio

Left me Wanting More!
ADA Elizabeth Holt is prosecuting cases when she gets a call about a past case. One she was the “survivor” and then we learn a lot about what made her into the strong woman she is now. This audio was good and kept my attention but was over too soon. I will have to follow up with the rest of the series to find out what exactly happens. It wasn’t a cliff hanger per say but it left me wanting to know more.

What a thriller
This one is not my normal but wow it was an amazing book. This one has you on the edge of your seat the entire book. Elizabeth, the main FMC, is an amazing woman. As the store is revealed, my heart went out to her and how her life path altered over time. This is a short listen/read so I won't say any more but it is definitely worth the listen/read. Both narrators are new to me as well as the author. I would most definitely listen to them again and read more of the author's work.

suspenzeful
Elizabeth Holt's character grows throughout this story!
By being a victim , her obsession changes the course of her life. She becomes a strong independent woman , a lawyer fighting for other victims of abuse.
She gets a call regarding her cold case. Will justice finally be served?
This story is a suspenseful mystery I enjoyed listening to.
Sara Hannan and Dryw McArthur narration is very good. They are new narrators for me and looking forward for more audios from each.

Actions which Define One's Life
This was my first experience with Chris Patchell's work, and the story was riveting. Elizabeth Holt was physically attacked, and it changed her life. The subject matter was emotional. The societal norms which were presented were both thought-provoking and anger inspiring. Elizabeth Holt as a character was memorable and strong. Sara Hannan's and Dryw McArthur's dual narrations were good, and their performances enhanced the story's message. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review which included my opinions.

This powerful tale is a fantastic start to a new series! As a college student Elizabeth Holt is violently attacked in her home. This story is filled with much drama and action. The characters are well drawn and believable. The writing and narration are top notch. Highly recommended! I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook and am looking forward to the next in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.

Justice for All
okay this was actually a really good book, enjoy this drama/thriller very much. it kept me guessing, I did feel bad for her. she lost everything because of this man. but in a way she kinda did it to herself by pushing ppl away. but everyone deals with pain different ways. but this was a really good book. you have to listen/ read this book. I promise you'll love it.
