About this listen

This book is an introduction to Karma. In the west we talk of karma as if it were something like a justice system. A system that includes a mechanism that recognizes and establishes the value of good and bad karmic actions, whether they are accidental or intentional. It ensures all involved receive “their just deserts” according to the value/cost of their actions. Another western view of karma is something like an Excel worksheet containing a record of all good and bad karmic actions by a person. Karma from good actions wipes out, or offsets bad actions, four units of good karma offsets 4 units of bad karma, and, if the good actions are of high enough value, good actions will erase bad. In fact, it has been said that some people try to show a profit on their karmic balance sheet by consciously seeking out and doing good things to offset the bad they know or intend to do.Well, Karma and karmic law do not work like this. Nor is karma accepted by all religions. There is a big gulf between western religions such as Roman Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity and the religions of the east, such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism. In this book we explore an overview of Karma, Karmic Law and the differences in religious and scientific practices that relate to Karma. We include an over view of Karma and Merit and how they play a part in eastern religious belief as regards reincarnation of the soul and its progress towards enlightenment. This book is part of The Practical Shaman series, which includes broad introductions into shamans and shamanism. This book concentrates on reincarnation and the beliefs and rituals that surround the soul. This book is connected to an episode of The Shaman Podcast. The Reiki, Shamanism and the essential loving mysticism is complementary to our: •YouTube video series, “Reiki with Candice, Mark and Opame”, •“The Shaman Podcast” on iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Stitcher, Tunine, Deezer and more.
