Entertaining biography on an important French King. I love it when history is told as a story of real humans instead of a series of dates.

Nice history book with a captivating story

First King of House Valois

Was hoping for details into the smaller intrigue, planning, internal conflict etc. but this is basically a long wikipedia page spoken with poor French accent.

This is not a book about King Philip XI, but an long summary

Please narrators, either learn to pronounce French, or just say place names as Americans would. This hybrid approach mangles the words beyond recognition and makes the exercise comical.

Appreciate the idea of the recounting as Cliff’s Notes on Philip VI’s reign and the Hundred Years’ War.

Narration is comedic, making the history seem like a Monty Python skit
