About this listen

Simon’s a cowboy with a passel of trouble, and only one person can help.
Virginia. The prim, fussy daughter of the Texas governor.
The one girl he used to tease… endlessly.

If she won’t help, Simon’s friend will go to prison, leaving him to raise his two godsons, a pair of unruly boys who might just be more trouble than he ever was.

Simon hasn’t seen Virginia since they were both kids, playing chase at the county fair. With a little luck, and a lot of prayers, Virginia won’t remember his pranks. After all, plenty of time has passed.

Surely, Virginia wouldn’t still hold a grudge.

Simon vows to show Virginia that he’s turned a new leaf. Nowadays, he’s sure that he’s plenty charming. What’s more, he’s a rancher with big plans. All he needs is a little of Virginia’s help to prove his friend’s innocence.

Meanwhile he won’t pay a bit of attention to how pretty Virginia turned out.

Or her sweet smile.

Or that she’s never been kissed…

Pleasant enough

This was an easy listen. I usually prefer my westerns with a mystery and some bad guys, but this book only mentioned the bad guys passively. They are not a real part of the plot. It's more of a people story. It focuses on the relationships among the characters in a very light-hearted way. It's a clean romance with very little excitement, but enough humor to keep it interesting. I'm used to the virtual narrators now; however the virtual voice for this book was a little too cheerful. There are a couple of voices that are pretty decent, but this one stayed enthusiastic for the entire book.
