Love her and her story
I was a little nervous about listening to this book as the reviews were not great. I watched Brett in Grace under fire and found myself drawn to her. My mother was an alcoholic and I alwayed hope she would sober up because when she was, she was funny like Brett and the sound of her voice was similar. I loved having a peak into Brett's past. thank you for sharing yourself with us.

Recommend!
I love Brett Butler! I've been a fan of hers for as long as I can remember. Grace Under Fire was the first TV show I was ever addicted too. I also just wanna mention I love that this book is read by her. To hear her story in her voice; it just couldn't have been done better.
I relate to this book in many ways and was very touched and moved by it. I find her funny and find her voice comforting. I honestly couldn't get enough of it and am sad it ended.
I've read other reviews where someone said she reads it too fast. Honestly it sounded exactly like her. It's how she speaks and just 100% her. I had no issues with the speed or anything like that.
I would recommend this book, especially to fans.

I can't express how important this book is to me.
Ms.Butler is one of the most genuine, congenial true people, and a heck of a gal! A voice for abused and senior animals she finds homes for these outcasts. I hadn't realised how much we had in common. She's a class act all the way. Thanks, Ms.B. It's been over 3 years, I still plan on that "thing" I promised. I wanted to grasp the whole gal. Your warm, and compassionate way begs to ask for a more up to date sequel. ?

Probably better to read than listen to this story
Since Brett is an actress I thought this would be more of a performance than a dry read of material. The director/producer failed with this audio recording. I do feel her life story is interesting. She writes well. But her fast monotone reading style was disappointing.

Brett always delivers!
I love this book! I’ve listened to it 3 times now. It does sound like she’s rushing through it a bit, but I love her voice and her wit and funny sarcasm still shines through. Also a very interesting biography. I hope she ends up writing at least one more!
