Einmal mehr ist Elbone in Schwierigkeiten geraten, oder viel mehr: sein Schiff. Elbones neueste Geschäftsidee sind Holzanker, da sie leichter sind als welche aus Metall. Zu dummnur, dass sie kein Schiff im Hafen halten. Und so ist Elbones Schiff abgetrieben, und die kleinen Retter begeben sich nun auf die Suche. Die Gruppe trennt sich, ein Paar bilden dabei Schnitti und Bubsler. Ein Sturm treibt sie dabei auf die Insel der „Flughopser“, kleinen Drachen, die eigentlich in kleinen Hütten leben, nun aber auf die Bäume gezogen sind.
Der Mechano-Multi-Drache
Einmal mehr hat Magnus einen Mechano-Drachen entworfen, um die kleinen Retter „überflüssig“ zu machen. Dieser Drache ist fast komplett aus Belzium und somit äußerst stabil. Zudem verfügt er über alle Möglichkeiten, über die auch die kleinen Drachen verfügen: Steine spucken, mit Stacheln werfen, einen Wasserstrahl absondern, Feuerbälle spucken. Nur einen Mega-Blitz wie Flügler hat der künstliche Drache nicht im Repertoire. Deshalb will Magnus die Kraft der Gewitterblitze einfangen, um sie für den Mega-Blitz zu nutzen. Eines Nachts lädt sich der Mechano-Drache dann während eines Gewitters aus – allerdings zu heftig, denn er macht sich auf einmal selbstständig und gerät völlig außer Kontrolle.
