About this listen

Critic reviews

Jorge Bucays Geschichten haben eindeutig Suchtpotiential.

I read a little excerpt in English but the true beauty of the little stories that make up the book comes through in German. The English writing is succinct and inelaborate whereas in German it paints a beautiful picture with the words. Nonetheless I’m sure in any language anyone can find powerful meanings in those stories. They are directly related to life and probably everyone interprets them slightly differently but they give the reader some food for thought that you can reflect on while rereading the stories a few times. And it’s so much easier to remember and retell them to people who might be struggling with some aspects mentioned in the book. By interpreting them, one internalizes the meaning more deeply than if you were just told a concept.

The only tiny con is I suppose, in the Audio version at least, that the stories follow one after the other so I found myself having to rewind a few times.

Beautiful stories (German version)
