Ron Hubbard expressly for the aspiring writer, Writers of the Future has become the most respected and significant forum for new talent in all aspects of speculative fiction. The elite character of the contest is evident from the roster of judges: Kevin J. Anderson, Doug Beason, Gregory Benford, Orson Scott Card, Brian Herbert, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Eric Kotani, Anne McCaffrey, Larry Niven, Frederik Pohl, Jerry Pournelle, Tim Powers, Robert Silverberg, and K. D. Wentworth. Since its inception, the contest has helped place more than 250 novels and 2,500 short stories on bookshelves around the world. The Writers of the Future Award has also earned its place alongside the Hugo and Nebula awards in the triad of speculative fiction's most prestigious acknowledgements of literary excellence.

Very entertaining

The stories are all great entertainment from fresh talent. I enjoyed all of them. The performances are also very good. I listened to this on a long drive and it was interesting enough to keep listening to the entire time.

What I didn't like was that each story comes with an "about the author" and an "about the illustrator" that are read by an automated voice. The authors and illustrators have achieved something great and they deserve the chance to publish their bios, but some of them are extremely long and the narration of these is tedious.

Overall, it was well worth the credit for 14 hours of fresh-faced speculative fiction.

Another great collection

Volume 24 is another great collection of short form speculative fiction stories. There were a number of stand outs in this issue.

My favorites include: Ian McHugh's 'Bitter Dreams', J. Kathleen Cheney's 'Taking a Mile', Patrick Lundrigan's 'Hanger Queen', David Parish-Whittaker's 'A War in the Belly of a Mouse'

All of the stories are of the highest quality and listening to them on Audible is extremely convenient.
