About this listen

Abridged??

Would be nice to know beforehand wether a record is abridged or not.
Regarding the story, this is a well-esteemed classics, but really not enticing.
The female reader is emblematic of the traditional radio style, from elite radio programs. She won't make male characters' voices, nor foreign characters' accent. She doesn't distinguish the various female voices. She barely avoids being monotonous. She doesn't enliven the asinine love intrigue. But she maintains some kind of academic flair.
