Publisher's summary

Dark curls and an unforgettably sweet laugh....

A trip to Hertfordshire brought Fitzwilliam Darcy face-to-face with the woman who had haunted his dreams for five years. Their chance meeting led to a courtship, in spite of those who wished to separate them. Now Elizabeth Bennet is traveling to London where she will be introduced to Darcy's family and the ton. How will Elizabeth be received? Will their love flourish and grow or will new trials overwhelm them?

Definitely second book.

I read what was the third in the series but it was labeled as second. I thought a lot of the story was missing!

Part 2 of a great story

Very detailed and well written story. I highly enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next and ending story. Some angst and twists and turns adds excitement to the story. I highly recommend this book to a Jane Austen fan fiction lover.

Both book 2 and 3 are awsome.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend it to a friend. Many rewrites are just to lite. But here the author really thought and but her heart into it. I could not wait to read the next boook. Am glad I did.

What other book might you compare Laughter Through Trials to and why?

A wonderful love story. Well worth the time to listen to them.

What does Nancy Peterson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Nancy Peterson brings out the characters and paints a picture of what is going on. Great job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Caroline moved me and to the depth she would go to.

Laughter Through Trials

Laughter Through Trials: Her Unforgettable Laugh, ...
: Linda Thompson

The listener picks up with Darcy and Elizabeth moving their romance to the city. The scoundrel Wickham is back and up to no good. Miss Bingley is joined in scheming by Miss Marjorie, who both want Darcy for themselves. Twists, turns, dinners, balls, outings and adventures both pleasant and not keep our group very busy.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Nancy Peterson character voices are pleasantly easy to listen to.

I am very anxious to begin listening to book 3.

Good story but narrator forced me read instead.

Sad I had to return it.

Narrator has a pleasant voice but reads as if it were a children's story. Every sentence had almost constant inflections that just made no sense to the text.

Characterization is off

Also, do yourself a favor and just skip over the action scenes. It’s all just agonized Darcy and friends looking on as a bumbling and illogically chatty Whickham makes nonsense proclamations. I really wish I hadn’t listened to part one as it lead to me buying this one.

Good but went on too long

I truly enjoyed book 1 of this series, but am somewhat disappointed in book 2. It went on too long with the two wicked women who are trying to destroy Elizabeth and Darcy's relationship. That is just a bit over the top for two women to want to break up a couple so that they can get they guy. They can't both have him! Silly. The other part that went on too long is Wickham's attempts to kidnap, murder, ruin, or what ever he want to do regarding Darcy, Elizabeth and Georgiana. The only thing I can say is that I would hate to depend on Richard, Darcy and the 12 men they have hired, to protect me. One little Wickham seems to always outwit them. Otherwise the story is fairly interesting and I am going to finish up with book 3, which will be the double wedding. I am sure that Mrs. Bennett's wickedness and extravagance will be overdone by the author, but I still want to know what happens.
