About this listen
What do you do when you've got a degree in French and absolutely no job prospects? Of course, you slide into your favorite French bakery for a café crème!
When a lighthearted conversation with the manager of the local patisserie turns into a job offer, Lexi Stuart gladly accepts. She indulges in tasty pastries and wins over skeptical coworkers, but the glamour is minimal, and the pay is less than generous.
Trouble by the handful is stirred into her life as she juggles the flirtatious baker she has her eye on and a handsome young executive who likes Lexi even more than her Napoleons.
As she folds together dilemma and delight, Lexi learns that trying to fulfill everyone else's expectations is not satisfying. Instead, she must risk everything safe and comfortable to find out if the dream is within her reach.
Download and devour this delicious series, sugared with romance and fun and spiced with a lightly Christian worldview. Bon Appétit!

A Wonderful Story & Recipes!
This was my first venture into Audible books. I enjoyed everything about this book. Lexi Stuart is trying to figure out her life. She needs a job, an apartment and a boyfriend wouldn’t hurt. She gets a job in a French Bakery. I love that Sandra Byrd adds the recipes to the culinary delights, that Lexi makes. Lexi struggles, just like we all do. I can relate to her desire for a deeper relationship with God.
I love this book. The narrator does a wonderful job of keeping you engaged. I am looking forward to the next 2 books in this series!

Ooh La La!
Every time I pick up Let Them Eat Cake by Sandra Byrd, I am not disappointed. The audiobook is no different. The narrator, Sophie Amoss, is as refreshing as the main character, Lexi Stuart. I love following her journey of getting to know herself and finding her faith along with the peak the world of French baking. Let Them Eat Cake is definitely a comfort book as sweet as mille-feuille.
I received copy of this audiobook free from the author in an exchange for an honest review.

Inspiring
An inspiring audiobook that I enjoyed.
Lexi’s story is sometimes fun and sometimes serious. She tries to be truthful with herself but she does have this little nagging voice in her ear giving her a hard time. Can she turn that around and have the right voice speaking to her if she tries?
Her dad, mom and a few friends have her back but she learns some lessons the hard way. She realizes she will have to grow up and take responsibility for herself. When she gets the job at this French bakery she thought maybe this was a place she could move up and make more money. After all she did have a college degree and spoke French. I loved that she enjoyed cooking and that led to several recipes in the book. I also enjoyed the lovely French language even though I don’t know any French.
I recommend this Contemporary Christian audiobook.
I received a copy of this book from the author but was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
