About this listen

The doctrine of hell as place of unimaginably painful torment where most of humanity will spend eternity is without question the most troubling and seemingly unchristlike doctrine in all of Christianity. Most modern Christians assume they have no option except to believe it. But what if there were another way to understand hell, a way that offered hope, not despair, and was as old as the Bible itself? In Let's Talk About Hell, Kenneth Myers looks at what the Bible says about the subject, and explores a view held by many ancient Christian leaders that the purpose of hell is not to inflict eternal agony, rather to bring even the most recalcitrant soul into union with God. Between the covers of this book you will find good news indeed. Christian Eschatology Christianity Theology

Did you know the Old Testament never mentions what we commonly think of as Hell?

Did you know that it wasn’t until the 5th century that a Bible translation used one Latin word to translate four separate Hebrew and Greek words that we have come to associate with Hell?

Did you know that the word Hell is actually a Nordic name for the underworld?

Did you know that there is very good news about Hell?

If the notion of a God taking everlasting pleasure in roasting you alive without ceasing makes you sick to your stomach and has driven you away from considering or practicing the Christian faith, may I suggest you give Bishop Kenneth Myers a listen.

It’s simple, accessible, and filled with history, language studies, Scripture upon Scripture, and - most importantly - HOPE!

I read this book several years ago. Just listened to the audio again this week. I cannot recommend it enough.

This is a little gem among a mountain of boulders. It may be small but it has a huge message. The message is the real biblical truth of why Jesus Christ came into this world, lived a magnificent godly life of love beyond anything anyone has ever experienced. Why? Because “God so loved the world that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world would be saved”. God is Love (not has or had) but is. And according to scripture, love never fails. I don’t believe The Almighty God will ever fail either… eventually at some point unknown ALL WILL eventually believe, either in this realm or the next. All Glory to GOD! In Jesus Christ ! 🎉🙌✝️🕊
