About this listen

In ‘Letters From Peru,’ the reader meets Gerald Sullivan, an elderly retiree, who lives with his wife Judy, in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. They have a married daughter, Natalie, who lives in Texas with her husband, and their son, known as ‘young Gerry.’ Their lives seem to be on autopilot, until one day, Gerry receives a letter from Peru. Knowing no one from Peru, and having never travelled to Peru, he believes the letter to be a scam of sorts. If true, the letter, and those that follow, will change the lives of not only Gerry and Judy, but Natalie as well. Long buried family secrets will be revealed when Gerry decides to investigate the disquieting claim in the first letter. As a young man turning eighteen during the height of the Vietnam war, Gerry would never foresee the consequences of his decisions decades later. What started as a simple trip turns out for Gerry to be a journey of self discovery. Family Life Genre Fiction Marriage Latin America
