About this listen

In our culture, the “good life” means getting more. This series of retreat talks challenges listeners to subtract--to release whatever hinders us from siding with the cosmic Christ, whether that be in our inner world or our outer world. Father Rohr offers a daring vision which calls us to surrender, to liberation, to making room for real freedom.

Richard is always amazing

He challenges us to look beyond the stays quo …but I would say that many middle class Americans have newer cars because we drive 25000 miles a year and can’t afford to not to show up to work. Just saying! 😊

Letting Go: A Spirituality of Subtraction

Very good recording.
The talk captivated me during the first session, and continued to hold my attention.
Richard has way helping you understand our mission and how to get there.

technical problem

This is a fantastic book. As always, Fr Rohr does not disappoint. I am learning so much from listening to him.
However, I think there is a technical problem with the post production. The chapters of the title do not correspond to the talks. Talks begin and end in the middle of chapters. This makes it challenging to plan on how and when to listen to the talks. I am in chapter 3 and I have heard 4 or 5 talks already.
I am now wondering if I am the only one with this problem.

Best talk series by Richard Rohr

Of all the series that Fr Richard has made this, I believe, is his very best. An important and practical message.

Classic Rohr

His concepts are so common sense, down to earth, and challenging. He always makes me think and at the same time is encouraging. Letting Go is a must listen.

Excellent!

These talks are the equivalent of a condensed seminary education in spirituality..having just finished Fuller, it seems that Rohr made a synthesis of all of the spirituality courses and with so many perceptive insights into American culture and Christianity!

many truths, but politics is the answer?

I've been listening to Richard Rohr for a while now because he offers Truth you won't find elsewhere, but in this book, like others, I hear a lot of liberal politics as the answer to problems. Yes, I do still hear Christ as the answer as well, which is why I keep reading, but in my view, He is the ONLY answer and to direct us to politics puts the power (and the subsequent glory) in the hands of men, not God. I criticize my own conservative church for the same thing and was disappointed to find the counterpart here. It is difficult to find genuine Christianity, but I have seen it and been a part of it. I guess I'm still searching.
