Publisher's summary

She’s looking for a fresh start...she finds him.

Nylah Walker knows what it’s like to be protected. You don’t grow up with five brothers without having someone close by, watching your back at all times. She craves independence, and Cradle Mountain is her fresh start. Her new beginning. But fate has a terrible sense of humor, because during her first shift at a new job, not only does she meet overprotective, sexy former marine Liam—she also finds herself in unimaginable danger.

Liam Shore knows danger. He lived and breathed it during his time in special forces, then again as a prisoner to Project Arma. He thought living in a small mountain town would mean leaving peril behind. But suddenly, he and his friends are hunted men. Protecting his team is his first priority...until the danger overflows onto others.

When the threat shifts its sight to the new woman in town—the one with ice-blue eyes who captured his attention without even trying—Liam is determined to protect her, despite how hard Nylah tries to resist her savior. Because losing Nylah isn’t an option.

• Thoughts:
I honestly am so sad that this series is over! This book was a perfect way to wrap up this series! This is book 8 of the Blue Halo series. I was hooked from the very first page of the book. It starts off with a bang and keeps you guessing!! I couldn't get enough of it, so what did I do? That's right. I devoured it, I didn't want to put it down.
Liam was such a shocker for me. I mean, yes, we know of him and love him just as much as the rest of the guys. But goodness, his intensity was swoony, and I absolutely adored him! I love love love, Nylah! What a strong female character! As much as she wants to resist Liam, that little charmer just has her captivated.
The story was such an epic ride! I loved everything thY this story had to offer. The characters, the development, the interaction between all the characters. Chef kiss! Well done, Nyssa! I am so sad to say goodbye to this series, but it will definitely be one I revisit.

Perfect way to end a series while still be a solid stand alone

What a perfect way to end a series. The twists were unexpected, the book was jammed packed with action and keeping you at the edge of your seat. The cameos from all the men from the prior books was a great addition. (No fear, you can read this as a stand-alone and not feel like you’re missing out). The narration of the book was terrific! Emma Wilder did a great job of performing the strong independent Nylah while still having that tinge of softness needed without any whining to her voice! Jason Clarke, I am starting to believe he is one of the Blue Halo men because there is no other narrator who could have done Liam justice!

I think Liam and Nylah have just become my favorit

Oh my gosh!!

I think Liam and Nylah have just become my favorite couple!!!

Nylah, being protected by her overbearing brothers for years needs to find her own life and knows she can’t do it under their thumbs so she moves to Cradle Mountain. Finding a job as a party organizer, she finds herself working a party for Marble Protection and Blue Halo.

Liam sees her and she takes his breath. Talking to her, Liam knows that he has to spend time with this woman. Convincing her before the end of the night, Nylah finally gives Liam her phone number. Little did either one know just how much their night was going to change.

Danger always finds these guys! They are alpha protectors but Nylah doesn’t think she needs protecting, oh but she doesn’t realize just how wrong she is!

I hate to see this series end but I am looking forward to the upcoming new series, Reckless Hope and can’t wait to see Cody’s story!

Liam

This is the eighth book in the Blue Halo series. Nylah and Liam had almost an instant love. Nylah was hired to work at an event held by the Blue Halo team. All of the Marble Falls guys were attending the event as well. The event was attacked. Nylah kept getting attacked by “Hawk”. This book was crazy! I can’t believe who turned out to be Hawk. Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke did a fantastic job narrating this book.

LIAM & NYLAH

Having only one younger brother, I can't EVEN imagine having five over-protective brothers! That's what Nylah has and that's why she heads to a new beginning in Cradle Mountain, ID, home of the Blue Halo team. But her arrival and the first night on her new job starts with a BANG.....and there are some real surprises in store. This is Nyssa Kathryn and the Blue Halo boys at their best.

Liam is the last to fall in love and has to learn to curb his protective tendencies or he'll lose Nylah....not a good thing since someone she believes is dead wants her dead! Liam and his team getting yet another bad guy are a great way to finish this series, but I will miss them!

Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder are two of my favorite narrators and they did a great job with Liam & Nylah's story.

Mixed feelings about this one

This book has more with the totally entertaining characters from this series. There is a lot of suspense and action and romance. However, I do detest all the swearing. It isn't necessary and totally takes away from my enjoyment of the story. In addition, I disliked much of the narration, especially the female voices. For me, this book is better read than listened to.
