Annie lebt zufrieden mit ihren Tieren in Snowflakes. Einen Mann braucht sie nicht unbedingt in ihrem Leben. Wenn, dann vielleicht als prickelnder One-Night-Stand ohne weitere Verpflichtungen. So zumindest formuliert sie es, als sie sich mit ihren Freundinnen Wünsche für die Zukunft überlegt.
Jesper hat sein kraftraubendes Leben hinter sich gelassen, um sich in Snowflakes eine Auszeit zu nehmen. Eine, in der er sich um seine Selbstverwirklichung kümmern will. Er zieht in das Haus neben Annies ein und die beiden treffen schneller aufeinander, als Jesper sich das vorgestellt hat. Und obwohl das Kennenlernen alles andere als harmonisch verläuft, rettet Annies offene Art die Stimmung.
Die Nachbarn kommen sich näher und Annie stellt sich für Jesper als große Hilfe heraus. Doch dann taucht jemand aus Jespers Vergangenheit bei ihm auf und würfelt alles durcheinander.
Wie wird Annie reagieren, wenn sie den Mann, den sie bereits in ihr Herz geschlossen hat, in den Armen einer anderen Frau sieht? Und was will die elegant gekleidete Frau wirklich in Snowflakes und von Jesper?
