About this listen

You were lied to about the nature, character, and cause of the American Civil War, but that is just the start. The entire South - its people, culture, history, customs, both past and present - has been and continues to be lied about and demonized by the unholy trinity of the American establishment: academia, Hollywood, and the media.

In the midst of the anti-South hysteria currently infecting the American psyche - the banning of flags, charges of hate and racism, the removal and attempted removal of Confederate monuments, the renaming of schools, vandalism of monuments and property displaying the Confederate Battle Flag, and even physical assaults, albeit rarely at present, on people who display the symbols of the South - Shotwell Publishing offers this unapologetic, unreconstructed, pro-South book with the hope that it will reach those who are left that are not afraid to question the sanity of this cultural purge and the veracity of its narrative concerning the South.

CAN FREEDOM LIVE IN THE MODERN AMERICA?

This book will taste fowl to the leftist federalism tromping the freedom of true Constitutional Freedoms. The federalist mentality is embedded in the leftist brain as that of a dog which has no mind to reflect on its actions.
-
Those who allow the mind to reflect upon federal tyranny are immediately branded as an enemy of the state.
-
This falsetto democracy will self destruct into socialism, or worse, a breed of fascism.
CAN FREEDOM LIVE IN THE MODERN AMERICA? We shall see...

Oh that I could have been taught the truth earlier

It’s a shame we can’t be trusted by academia to learn bouts sides of the argument. I’m convinced that we are intelligent enough to handle the truth.

Take it for what it is.

I saw this as more of a teaser to elicit more study. I've received my history only through government text books and then you read something that opens your eyes. That book for me was 'The Real Lincoln' by DiLorenzo. You then realize there is more to the story. Much of this book I had already learnt through my years of reading after DiLorezo. This is my first read of Clyde Wilson, but I read alot of Brion McClanahan who studied under Clyde Wilson. Looking forward to reading more Clyde Wilson. My advice is read beyond the history received in the public education system, keep an open mind and then decide.

Dr Wilson is a real historian.

Well written essays. Good to hear a author that doesn’t bash the south. Good to get a different perspective. Thanks

southern history nutter

ranting about how the south was wronged. I admit I only made it through the trial, but I wouldn't give money to someone like that

WARNING! NOT DR LOEWEN

This a book that rewrites the story of the civil war to paint it as a war of Northern aggression that had little to do with slavery. I am slightly open to this idea if someone has real data to support this position. This writer who is clearly piggybacking his title off an actual good book is grossly unstudied and inaccurate in his assertions. I fell for this imposter and will be more careful of imitators like him in the future

Too Much Opinion, Not Enough Facts

The author spends most of his time making claims about falsehoods maintained by a northern perspective on the civil war but unfortunately provides very few historical examples. This feels more like an hour long rant than a strong case for historical inaccuracies. I was hoping for more facts and examples.
