About this listen
Read by Martin Freeman.
In Life, the Universe and Everything – the third title in Douglas Adams' blockbusting sci-fi comedy series, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy – Arthur Dent finds himself enlisted to prevent a galactic war.
In consequence of a number of stunning catastrophes, Arthur Dent is surprised to find himself living in a hideously miserable prehistoric Earth. However, just as he thinks that things cannot possibly get any worse, they suddenly do. He discovers that the galaxy is not only mind-bogglingly big and bewildering, but also that most of the things that happen in it are staggeringly unfair.
Escaping the end of the world for a second time, Arthur, Ford, and their old friend Slartibartfast embark (reluctantly) on a mission to save the whole galaxy from fanatical robots. Not bad for a man in his dressing gown . . .
Follow Arthur Dent's galactic (mis)adventures in the rest of the trilogy with five parts: So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish, and Mostly Harmless.

Martin Freeman is a legend 🙌
Though the story was not as hilarious as the 1st book, it was still a great book to listen to.
I was blown away by Martin Freeman's narration. When listening to his narration, it was very easy to create mental pictures on each character. Looking forward to listen to more of his recordings!

Watch out for the Lords of Krikket!
Martin Freeman again delivers a fantastic narration of the late, great Douglas Adams words. A couple of the characters weren't quite vocalised how I imagined and that initially jolted me but overall, this is a lot of fun to listen to.

Of the first three, this one is the least good
The story is not as good as in the first two books. It’s slow, dull and very weird - not in a good way unfortunately. It takes a long time for the book to reach the level the two others are on.
