Lion was declared king and invited all the animals to come for a greeting, so he could thank them all. Little Ant was representing all the ants and she was so excited she got up extra early and got to the greeting place before any other animals. She didn't care. She would just wait, but soon a monkey came who did not think a tiny ant should be the first in line and picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. This happened again and again as animal after animal felt that no little ant should be in front of it. Ant was last and by the time ant got up to the lion king, the king was too tired and he did not eve greet Little Ant. She went home sad.
Time went by and the king got an ear ache. It was a tiny worm in his ear. He called in the animals, but they were all too big to reach in his ear. So they all figured that Little Ant was the only one who could help. Then they all remembered how mean they were to Little Ant. They all went together and apologized to Little Ant and asked her to help the King. He then offered his apologies and she agreed to help. She retrieved the worm and everyone celebrated her big littleness. From then on ants can live anywhere.

Sometimes Size Matters 😉
I love this short tale about Little Ant and the Lion. 😍 All the animals in the forest, so arrogant and full of themselves went to greet Lion, newly declared king, and Little Ant, humble and unassuming, continued to wait her turn, passed up because of her size by all the others. Tossed over their shoulders, one by one, without a care, and landing on her feet, 😊, still she waited, patiently. But when she got to the great lion, what did he do? He sent her away, too tired to greet her. Little Ant went home sad, but I am sure with her dignity intact. Some time passed and the Lion King got a terrible earache. Calling upon each of his friends to help him, he soon learned that he was out of luck. None of them could go into his ear to retrieve the worm! 😮 Then, ashamedly, they remembered how they had treated Little Ant. (They needed her help.) So together they went to see her. They told her they were sorry. The sweet and kind lady that she was, she forgave them. She went into the lion's ear, retrieved the worm and soon the lion was well. The entire animal kingdom celebrated Little Ant and how her smallness saved the day! And now ants live everywhere on the earth!
