Publisher's summary

Playing games up and down the river, something no self-respecting tugboat would do, makes Little Toot an object of scorn - until he alone rescues an ocean liner in trouble.

Editorial reviews

In the seven decades since its initial publication, Little Toot has spawned multiple sequels and film adaptations. Continually in print since 1939, this tale of a tiny but tenacious tugboat continues to capture the imaginations of young audiences, and this vintage performance from Owen Jordan betrays Toot’s timeless appeal. Jordan’s soft, soothing, singsong baritone conjures up warm memories of bedtime lullabies. The prolific children’s voice actor breathes warmth and liveliness into this tale of a sprightly tugboat, who would rather frolic amid the waves than take part in the toilsome work typically demanded of tugboats. Dismissed as a "sissy" by his peers, Toot stumbles upon a chance to redeem himself when he discovers a shipwrecked ocean liner adrift far from land.

I love the kids books with pictures

this is a great classic kids book, more publishers should take advantage of the ability to include different images as you go through the book

Where are the pictures?

We've been slowly going through and buying the books in the With Synchronized Images category. This one was placed in that category but doesn't show any illustrations other than the cover image - I wish we could get the illustrated audiobook version or exchange it for one that has pictures!
