About this listen
Little White Feather by Jan Yoxall is the first from the new series of meditation downloads for children called The Great Spirit Series for Little Souls. Containing three tracks, Little White Feather, The Stone Spirit The Wolf & The Buffalo, and Morning Star Meditation, this audio will help children with creativity, confidence, and self esteem.
The meditations are built around the life of Little White Feather, a little Native American boy and his family. Use of this audio will encourage children to be imaginative, with a respect for people, animals, and the world around them.
Using this programme at bedtime or for general relaxation will help to focus energy and develop self awareness, encouraging children to relax naturally and develop a sense of security and inner peace.

Nightly ritual with my five year-old
Such a soothing voice and gentle story to help my daughter fall asleep at night.

Ehh
What did you like best about Little White Feather? What did you like least?
I liked the length and lessons of the 2 tracks. Chapter 1 is merely an introduction. Chapter 2 is bravery and the wolf, also it is just a bedtime story. Chapter 3 is an actual meditation and is very good. It is for recognizing and accepting the smallness of lifes problems with the eagle to guide you.
The value is majorly lacking in comparison to other meditations for children that are of course difficult to find well done. Most are not good for young ages, this one really is.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Jan Yoxall?
Not a native american based one. Please note the critics are all UK. Listened to sample and didn't think it would be an issue but really for native american stories absolutely not working.
Seriously it bugged me hearing the boy fishing to bring home food for tea. I highly doubt there were specifically tea times other than for ritual and healing. That isn't to say they didn't have teas, several varities for different tribes and areas.
Did Little White Feather inspire you to do anything?
Little white feather becomes brave white feather. And brave white feather learns that problems are so small in the grand scheme of things.
Any additional comments?
Personally i wouldn't have wasted as much money on it. Over priced for length. It is just difficult to find meditations for young children like the 3rd chapter and be decently narrated and have a good story or message.
