About this listen
In the small town of Silverstone, Texas, 21-year-old Rosalie Watson is an average medical student just trying to get by. At least she would be average, if not for her magical ability to heal any living thing. As citizens of Silverstone begin to go missing, Rosalie wonders who or what could be behind the disappearances. When she meets heartthrob Jackson Bulgari, she’ll discover a world of magic and mystery unlike anything she ever thought possible. No doubt Rosalie will face challenges and hardship every step of the way, but the real question is: Can she handle it?

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Rosalie Watson's Precious Little Life
Livskraft (Or as I like to call it, Rosalie Watson's Precious Little Life), is a story about that time in our lives we all experience. When we realize that our perfect world won't stay that way forever, our innocence is shattered, and the real world comes crashing in.
For it being her first novel, Teressa J Martin does a fantastic job of painting the world her protagonist Rosalie lives in. She has everything she could want, as well as magic powers, and is as carefree and oblivious as a pigeon sitting on the freeway... as a semi truck bares down on it. The magic system is well thought out and beautifully described, and the characters feel like real people (if you check out her YouTube channel and see the lengths she goes to when creating them, you'll understand why https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOXFLKLtdQMhJytQDxtUBjA ). The plot starts a bit slow, but there's a reason for that, and if you stick with it, the payoff is well worth it in the end.
Michella Moss does an incredible job of bringing even more life to the world. Her narration immerses me in the story more than I thought I ever could be.
All in all, this is a fantastic start to a series that's proving to be one of my favorites!

Absolute Synergy
Take an author who creates a book with a strong plot, fascinating characters, and amazing adventures experienced by our protagonist. Add an amazing voice performer, a woman with wonderful narrative skill and great pacing. What do you get?? You get an AMAZING audio book that manages to be greater than the sum of it's parts.
I highly recommend this marvelous edition of Livskraft.

Exciting, edge of your seat kind of story!
I would call this a page turner if it wasn’t an audio book! I listen to books in the car during my commute and would find my self driving slower or sitting in the parking lot to hear just a little bit more about Rosalie’s adventure. It left me guessing and speculating throughout and on the edge of my seat. No spoilers- but there is a point in the story where it goes from an interesting novel to me screaming expletives in excitement and fear. I was connected to the characters and felt genuine worry for them when they were in trouble... even the cat, who has her own little personality! I love how the author made the magic believable, the character’s actions had consequences and that gave the entire novel a much more realistic feel. I can’t wait for the next book because there is so much story left to be told... this was just the beginning of an amazing trilogy!

Fascinating, Fast moving plot
Livskraft is written by Teressa J. Martin and narrated (beautifully) by Michella Moss. It is the story of Rosalie Watson and her unusual abilities and unusual friends in "Silverstone", Texas. (Silverstone sounded like a blend of Dallas and Austin to this Texan.) It is a great story and Martin tells it well. The audio narration by Michella Moss does it justice. Moss not only has a beautiful voice but a real talent for conveying characterization and mood. More on that later.
Fans of modern urban fantasy fiction will love the close personal relationships, the (sometimes startling) magic and tense suspense sustained by the tightly plotted narrative. Martin's uncluttered, easy, "you are there" prose style keeps the reader attentive to every sentence. But it is the plot of this book that is the real star. Surprises, horror, suspense and a shattering climax result in a page turner you will be sorry is over. When I finished the final chapter, I wanted to contact the author and ask how the sequel was coming along.
I am happy to report there are two more in the series!
One thing I would like the author to consider doing is to write a backstory appendix or prequel to bolster the themes and principles of her world. I don't know if this is planned but it would add to the richness of her world. That said, she does a fine job of world-building in the course of this single novel.
Special notice needs to be given to the audible narrator Michella Moss. Martin was wise to go to a top professional (you know Moss from TV voiceovers e.g. Sandals Resorts commercials etc...). This resulted in an audiobook that comes alive in her narration.
The combination of suspenseful, tightly plotted storyline conveyed by Moss' talented voice narration makes this top of its class. When you finish this book you will want more from this most promising young author.
