About this listen

The murderee is Nicola Six, a 'black hole' of sex and self-loathing who is intend on orchestrating her own extinction. The murderer may be Keith Talent, a violent lowlife whose only passions are pornography and darts; or the rich, honourable, and dimly romantic Guy Clinch. And as Nicola leads her suitors towards the precipice, London - and, indeed, the whole world - seems to shamble after them in a corrosively funny novel of complexity and morality.©1989 Martin Amis (P)2014 Audible, Inc. Too depressing

Great narrator, great writing but it’s probably that I was not in the mood for such depressing characters

Review

As per Martin Amis, excellent and witty writing, but lacks any cohesive plot. The narration is good, especially the working class dialect of Keith, but the narrator struggles with the female voices. Despite the weakness of the actual story, the masterfully witty prose of this book makes it worth a read
