About this listen
"There's things out there that you ain't dreamed of. Like back-from-the-dead mountain men, green ghost mountain spirits, carrion stallion, time-traveling mad scientists and zombified buffalo... just for starters." This weird western novella starts at a gallop and gathers momentum faster than a stampeding avalanche. You will never look at a severed head the same way again.

THIS WAS NO TIME FOR POETRY
AS SURE AS SHIT GREW MAGGOTS, this is typical of Steve Vernon. SV shows he has imagination, that he tells a story in a different way then others, but he still does not know how to bring these stories to a final conclusion. He is better in the very short story category, where a plot may not be as important.
STRANGE DIDN'T BEGIN TO DESCRIBE IT.
Zombies and aliens inhabit this book along with some old time western characters. LEDBETTER MIGHT HAVE BEEN DEAD, BE HE WASN'T SUICIDAL. He was not quite DEADER THEN A BEAVER HAT. Most of the characters are THE KIND OF NIGHTMARES, NIGHTMARES DREAM ABOUT. If all you want are some strange characters and some strange situations then this is the book for you. The lack of a plot and the lack of an ending will kill the fun for most readers. His writing style is similar to Purity Anderson.

Outstanding
This funny, gritty genre crossover is a delicious romp through the disgusting account of a zombie on a quest through a ressurectionist wild west jamboree.
Above and beyond.
