Excellent story!!

The narrator did a good job varying the voices of characters. He was able to give believable enough tones to each character and he didn't need use a southern accent because the influence of the southern words and sayings were enough.
Life's Long... But Short!

Amazon Headline: Loving the Past and the Present
I’ve been keeping up with this author since 2011 I started my journey with Unexpected Interruptions and kept it going from there. These characters have truly become special to me. This is a large clan and sometimes it’s a little difficult to keep it straight. Don’t believe that it has anything to do with the author’s writing because it doesn’t. I still have to ask my sister “how is he/she related to us” (smile)
I was blessed a few years ago to be part of a community called A Chapter a Month. While in this community this is where I got to know so much about the lives of the Small family, at the helm is Grandma Allene (Isaiah’ mother).
The next generation was started by Isaiah and his wife Henrietta Small who gave birth to John, Billy and Phyllis. John went on to give birth to Victoria Small who gave birth to a gifted child named Alexandria.
Looking for Trouble fuses the past with the right here and now. Grandma Allene and Alexandria share the same gift and it is through this connection that Grandma Allene crosses time to speak to Alexandria, and to teach her about her gift. Trouble is brewing in the Small family and its going to take the natural and unnatural to stop it from boiling over into their lives.
As I got more familiar with Grandma Allene it took me to Scripture the bible talks about gifts of the Spirit and manifestations, God makes believers aware of needs that He wants to meet through them, this is what Grandma Allene taught.
Hickman does an excellent job of keeping the lines clear while managing dual narration from Alexandria’s point of view in the here and now and John’s from the past.
Outstanding story I can’t wait to read Troublemaker..
A complimentary copy of this book was provided by the author for my honest and thoughtful review.
