About this listen
A beautiful collection of easily-relatable and heart-warming poems exploring the true meaning of love and life, and the relationship between the two. Get ready for a remarkable voyage.
Have you ever wondered what life would be like without love? Life is a priceless gift deliberately crafted and packaged for our enjoyment, but it is not a bed of roses. It is a mixture of the good, bad and ugly-including pains and gains, sadness and joy, despair and hope, failures and successes- and it ends in death. Death reminds us we must make the most of this gift before it expires. How can we do this? Love and life are inseparable, dependent and complementary; love powers life while life makes love visible. This beautiful relationship is broken when both are misused or abused, usually due to a flawed understanding of what each truly is. What is love and what is life?
Love And Life: Poems About You And Me is a beautiful collection of easily-relatable and heart-warming poems arranged into two thematic parts exploring love and life. The poems speak personally to you and take you on a voyage that could leave you questioning some of the things you thought you knew about love and life. In the end you would realise: "After all have been said and done, after life has been lived and spent and, when we finally bid the world goodbye, only one thing will matter...the love we shared." Ziri Dafranchi who has written some award-winning poetry, reveals why he is admired in local poetry communities as he deploys literary techniques in combination with his unique style in this well curated collection which is suitable for all listeners.

Story
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Story
Who is Audrey Hoedemaker? It's a question her sister Maureen has heard more times than she can count, and she doesn't know what the short answer would be. Little sister, troubled teen, backpacker, musical theatre coach, con artist, childcare worker. Murderer. A tragic, traumatic childhood casts a long shadow on the Hoedemaker sisters. Maureen has worked hard to move beyond the violence of the past and build a good, honest life for herself. Audrey, however, just can't seem to do the same, careening from one state of chaos to another.

Story
Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Story
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Story
When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the sleepless nights, grueling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs. But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble.

Awesome & exceptional book
I have listened to this over and over again
Exceptional! Solid 5 star!
I thoroughly enjoyed the collection of poems in this book. I found it difficult deciding what poems are my favourites. Both sets of poems, about love and life, were equally insightful and deeply thought-provoking. My concept of love has definitely been redefined and I also now better appreciate the importance of purpose in attaining fulfilment in life. I strongly recommend Love and Life to anyone seeking to have a better and deeper understanding of both love and life.

Love poems on audio
I received this audiobook in exchange for a fair review.
This is my second time writing this review so hopefully this one will stick. I appreciated the author taking the time to make an audiobook of his poetry as it is accessible to more people this way in some ways. This collection is about love, loss, and the nature of Love itself. It is a short read so it is easy to figure out if the narration and the content resonate with you. I wasn't sure if the narrator would really resonate with the actual voice of the author but it is good narration overall

“Without love everything else is tasteless”
This is a lovely sentiment from a beautiful collection of poems that offer gentle wisdom and direction to help mediate the way through life’s path. An expression of love choosing peace over just wanting to be right. Showing greater care for mankind while finding strength through self reflection. A soothing listen and a great benefit to all who experience it.

A touching, and endearing piece of work.
This book is a great keepsake gift for a special someone or on a special occasion. It is reflective, refreshing, and enlightens the spirit. The writing is excellent, and the message crafted in each piece comes across as heartfelt. My only wish was that the poems were grouped by "theme" and there was a brief 30-second intro to the section's theme.

Listen to these nuggets of wisdom!
So many poems stood out but some of my favorites were:
Fragrance of Love
Let it Be Known
Flame
Addicted
Thundering Silence
You are important
I will breathe is a poem for everyone! “I will simply breathe” is an affirmation that I am going to repeat each morning when speaking words of affirmation to myself.
