Publisher's summary

"I've been hearing a lot of horror stories lately about love going terribly wrong, and it seems like people have made it disposable. I wonder if that's a risk I'm willing to take?"

The Cross in the Woods, a cattle ranch entrusted to Rebecca as the fourth-generation steward, becomes a crucible of transformation and romance. Determined to preserve the family legacy and seeking additional revenue streams to sustain the land, Rebecca faces the harsh reality of her self-reliant, loner nature. Seeking help is a challenging endeavor for her, but her prayers are answered one by one as individuals arrive at the ranch, igniting not only the flames of newfound business ventures but also the sparks of unexpected romance. Through their collective efforts, the ranch not only survives but flourishes in ways they never anticipated. 'The Cross in the Woods' intimately recounts their journey—a narrative of revitalization for the ranch, as they bring in new businesses, heal from their personal traumas, and kindle the fires of love.

Sarah made a desperate escape when her ex-husband's violence jeopardized her daughter's safety during a custody exchange. Fate intervened as she drove away, leading her straight into Rebecca's world. The compassionate ranch owner not only suggested a job opportunity to help cover her car's repairs but also quickly forged a deep bond with Sarah. United by a shared vision of transforming the old main house into a charming bed and breakfast, they embarked on this journey together with Maverick's support. Along the way, Sarah discovered the remarkable patience and loyalty of a man who was willing to mend both her heart and her daughter's.

Struggling to cope with the loss of his ranch and provide stability for his children, Maverick faces the challenges of being a single parent. Relocating to The Cross in the Woods Ranch only adds to their turmoil, as he juggles multiple managerial responsibilities. Initially, he's focused solely on assisting with the bed and breakfast project when Sarah arrives, with no intention of forming a connection. However, as their children forge a bond and bring them closer, Maverick may come to realize that a second chance at romance could be the key to healing the wounds they've been navigating.

The Cross in the Woods series is based on Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV). “Love is Patient” is the first book in this seven-book series. Download this clean romance book to make you feel good about yourself and your world.
