Publisher's summary

Confirmed bachelor Lum Edwards is an earnest entrepreneur - stable, yet stumbling. Forever jumping to conclusions, Abner Peabody tends to act first and ask questions later. Together, these silly silver-haired citizens of Pine Ridge, Arkansas, are the proprietors of the Jot 'Em Down Store. This good-hearted, if somewhat misguided, pair have such a slow and easy way about them that folks might assume their lives are uneventful - but nothing could be farther from the truth!

Chester Lauck and Norris Goff star as the amusing and obstinate old timers in 36 consecutive digitally restored and remastered episodes from 1942. Critic reviews

"Lum and Abner, elderly storekeepers in Pine Ridge, Arkansas, encounter humorous adventures and mishaps, often due to Abner's misunderstandings, with an occasional serious episode supporting the war effort. This program includes 36 episodes (under 15 minutes each, recorded without commercials), which were broadcast consecutively in 1942. Sound quality is excellent. Enjoying old-time entertainment requires sympathy, this show more than some; one must overlook the mild stereotyping of rural people as ignorant or peculiar. But the sympathetic listener will find gentle, sometimes silly, humor that is still enjoyable and worth a chuckle." ( AudioFile)
