About this listen

MURDER ON MARSDEN MOOR by Marilyn Clay is the 12th and final book in the Juliette Abbott Regency Mystery Series. The former Miss Juliette Abbott and her new husband, Lord Sheridan, who continues to represent England's Home Office, and her companion Miss Paula Woods, all travel to Castle Longley on Marsden Moor in North Yorkshire. Lord Sheridan has been tasked with conducting an exhaustive search of official records to insure that the unwed and childless Duke of Longley bequeaths his vast wealth and estates to a legitimate heir. If no heir is found, the Duke's fortune will, of course, revert to the Crown.

At the castle, Lord and Lady Sheridan find numerous house guests all claiming to be the Duke of Longley's sole and only heir, each one breathlessly awaiting the duke's all-important decision. The search for a legitimate heir is complicated when Juliette and Miss Woods find a man dead on the Moor and heats up when a gentleman guest, who claims to be the duke's only heir, is instead denied and turned away. Because the man has been courting Paula, and she has also disappeared, Juliette fears the angry man has abducted her!

Juliette begins a desperate search of the moor for her friend and beloved companion. But when another new guest, the Lady Mary Standridge arrives, she also refuses to believe the aristocratic lady is who she claims to be and sets out to uncover the woman's true identity. What she finds instead turns the castle on its head. The final explosive scene in this suspenseful mystery leaves everyone gasping!
