About this listen

Mercenary Kate Daniels tries to save her city from divine intervention in this dramatized audiobook in the #1 New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series.

As a mercenary who cleans up after magic gone wrong, Kate Daniels has seen her share of occupational hazards. Normally, waves of paranormal energy ebb and flow across Atlanta like a tide. But once every seven years, a flare comes, a time when magic runs rampant. Now Kate’s going to have to deal with problems on a much bigger scale: a divine one.

When Kate sets out to retrieve a set of stolen maps for the Pack—Atlanta’s paramilitary clan of shape shifters—she quickly realizes much more is at stake. During a flare, gods and goddesses can manifest and battle for power. The stolen maps are only the opening gambit in an epic tug of war between two gods hoping for rebirth, and if Kate can’t stop the cataclysmic showdown, Atlanta may not survive...

This dramatized audiobook also includes the Curran point of view story Soup.

My favorite series I already have all the Audio in regular format narrated by Renee but I really think graphic audio makes it Way Better, I recommend this for fantasy romance lovers who love different voices and sounds

I have read the book, listened to the original audio book and just finished listening to this version for the second time. What keeps me coming back is their superior quality of world building and the depth of their character development. Even minor characters are given back stories and depth, not one note cardboard cutouts. ❤️

Love this series so much I bought it again!

I love this series and have all the books and most of the original audiobooks. So I was skeptical of buying a version of an audiobook I already have and love. But the way the cast did this made it come to life in a new way making me love this series even more. The cast is again perfect for each role and the music and sound effects don’t drown out spoken words, as sometimes happens in dramatized audiobooks, in my opinion. In addition, the added Curran POV scenes are an excellent addition to this already great book. So I strongly recommend this.

Worth the credit!

I truly love love the Kate Daniel’s series and have read and listened to the original audio book (which is good) i think they’d make great movies but until then the graphic audio are really the next thing!!! Such a fun and engaging listen!

I've read the entire series and I couldn't pass up the chance to listen to the Dramatized Adaptation version. The voice of Curran is purrrfect. And the bonus of Curran's POV at the end is like a cherry on top. Kate and Curran are the ultimate power couple!

Love this series!

This book takes place a couple months after the first book in the series and is a continuation of the basic storyline. I enjoy the premise of the series with the fluctuations between magic and technology, and the assortment of characters is good. But I really really really get tired of nearly every male character fixating on wanting to dominate and have sex with the female protagonist, or treating her like a damsel who must be protected. I commented to my husband that the female character was portrayed as a strong independent woman but every male character just wanted to bed, intimidate, dominate or protect her, and these ambitions were repeated over and over again, and he replied, "So it's about the brother of Hercules?” I didn’t get the reference, so he said, “Testicles” and I just about snorted my glass of water. Well done!

This series often has music in the background that suits the story rather than the atmospheric soundscape that many other dramatized books use. It’s nice for a sense of variety when listening.

Not bad, not great.
