One day I was bebopping along, jamming to the music in my head while wondering if my thighs could handle grabbing a cupcake on the way home. The next thing I knew, my entire world crashed and burned. I used to wake up at night in a sweat, crying because I'd dreamt that my husband was cheating on me or that he hated me and resented my kids. He'd always hold me close and tell me it was all just a dream, that he loved me and our family and that he'd never let me go. He was a f--king liar.

A Sweet Story with a Happy Ending
I was unfamiliar with the Mail Order Bride series until I recently received the Audible version of The Bride’s Safe Haven in exchange for an honest review. I must say I was very pleased to be introduced to the series!
This is a sweet story with a happy ending that was a pleasure to listen to. It held a bit of suspense but the outcome was fairly predictable (and welcomed). I enjoyed the characters, the setting and the time period in which the book took place.
The narrator did a wonderful job with the reading of the story. It flowed well and had just the right amount of voice change.
All in all a very enjoyable listen!

A Pleasant Book to Listen to
This audio book was a very pleasant one to listen to. I enjoyed the story line and the characters. I also enjoy the shorter books for when I don't have a long time to listen. Meghan Kelly does a wonderful job as usual narrating the book.

Near Perfection-Short Sweet Historical Mail-Order
♡ Viola True is looking for a way out. She has had enough of her marriage to her wife beating her husband.
She responds to a mail order bride advertisement, a man who needs a wife, a mother to his children. As the first letters are exchanged they each fill a romantic and practical interest in one another.
As she makes her way out west strange things start to happen and Viola must confront her past to move on…
This is exactly what a short story should be. In 57 minutes there is a well-developed story written by Emma Ashwood.
Meghan Kelly narrates beautifully. As of of my favorite performers, I've run out of compliments! She is brilliant.

Desperate housewife seeks luck out west
This is the second novel in the mail order brides series I listened to. I got the audio book in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the narration, I love the voice and the way it is narrated, making all emotions and characters clear by variations in pitch, tone, etc. Very professionally done. The story didn't totally convince me, though. Maybe it was due to its shortness, but ti all went very fast, and the fantastic element in it didn't quite fit, imo. The idea was good, but I think it would have profited from an expanded plot, which would have made the character development clearer and more convincing.
Still, a nice enough story, and lovely to listen to if you have an hour to spare.

I Love the Mail Order Bride Westerns
This was a good Mail Order Bride short story. In THE BRIDE'S SAFE HAVEN, Viola was married to an abusive and repulsive man named Marshall. She replies to an ad by Jerome, a widower with children who was looking for a wife. These two were perfect for each other. She confides in her friend Rose about disclosing her past then Marshall shows up in town. And he is not happy. I love the twist at the end which is reminiscent of a certain movie. Pretty neat.
This was a good, clean, and enjoyable listen written by EMMA ASHWOOD. I really enjoy these stories. They're easy to listen to and relaxing.
MEGHAN KELLY is a fantastic voice actor. She has a nice voice with perfect inflections. She does a wonderful job reading the Mail Order Bride tales. She has a nice tone and I enjoy listening to her.
