About this listen

A delightful collection of sweet Regency romance novellas featuring ladies who are not content to let others dictate how their lives should be lived and the gentlemen who love them.
Save the Last Dance for Me
When Lady Honoria Maitland reunites with her old friend Benedict Grey, she proposes an
arrangement: a faux courtship that will smooth Benedict’s re-entry into society and please her father.
But Honoria’s clever plan fails to account for Benedict’s heart...or her own desires.

Back In My Arms Again
When James discovers a powerful lord is threatening his family, he needs the help of an influential ally.
A duke’s daughter, Lady Cecilia can provide James the help he needs—if they marry. But will he
accept anything from the woman who once broke his heart?

Kissing by the Mistletoe
Everyone knows Maddie Hayward is destined to marry Kit Mathison—everyone except Maddie. When
Kit and his family arrive for a Christmas visit, Maddie suggests a sham courtship to Kit’s brother,
Thomas, to stop such talk. Can Thomas use this time to convince Maddie that he is the Mathison
brother she should marry?

Narrator’s accent

This narrator did a good job with most of the accents and voices but a couple really bothered me. It made it hard to properly envision the characters. The leading man was supposed to be Welsh but the accent sounded like an Asian Indian. I’ve known many Indian people as well as hearing them on TV and every time the Welsh character spoke, I envisioned a small Indian man. The character was described as an uncommonly tall and virile man. The Welsh Doctor’s accent also sounded effeminate and Indian. Also, I could hardly tell the difference between the voice of the leading man and the female Welsh housekeeper. Other men’s voices sounded more masculine. The only other voice that seemed inappropriate was the leading lady. The voice was that of a civil war era southern bell. The character was supposed to be Revolutionary War era raised by British parents. A slight British accent would have been more appropriate.
