Publisher's summary

A sexy, smoldering, romantic comedy from international best-selling author, Christina Ross.

After years of struggling in New York City, I’m on the verge of making it big in my career...until he enters my life, and then all bets are off.

"He" would be Hunter Steele, the ridiculously hot show-runner of a popular reality show called The Terrible Teens.

My name is Julia Jacobs, and on the very day I’m promoted to become an assistant agent at the talent agency CAA, I sign Pepper Winters, a billionaire’s daughter with a massive social media following who wants to be on the next season of Hunter’s ultra-toxic reality show.

No. Matter. What.

Trouble is, the moment Pepper and I meet with Hunter to discuss bringing her on the show, I can’t keep my eyes off him. He’s tall, dark, handsome, and has something in his jeans that looks like a damned anaconda.

In other words, he’s exactly the type of man I don’t need to be distracted by right now. After all, I have a limited amount of time to prove myself to CAA. If I do? I’ll be promoted to associate agent. And if I don’t? I’ll be out of a job altogether.

But with Hunter coming on to me, how in the hell am I supposed to focus on my job? At first, I try my best to resist him, but after a disastrous breakup, I’ve been single for four years, and a girl has her needs. As the weeks pass and we come to know one another better, my guard starts to drop. Should I give Hunter a chance? Or should I let him go forever when I learn about his playboy past....?

I’ve been burned once. I won’t be burned again. And as much as I want to believe in Hunter when he tells me he’s moved beyond his loose reputation of bedding too many women to count, I now have to wonder if I can trust him.

And if I dare to do so, will he and I have a chance to make it....?

With Christina Ross' gift for delivering romance, humor, wit, and characters you'll love and never forget, Making It will leave listeners swooning until the end.

Sweet and funny!

Julia is promoted to agent status and gets a new client, Pepper, a 14 year old, make-up tutorial phenom with a bit of a reputation. Her first task is to get her on a reality TV show.... in doing so, she meets Hunter, who she’s immediately attracted to. Her friends have warned her he’s a player, so her guard is up.

Hunter is the producer of said reality show... and he is also immediately attracted to Julia. He isn’t the same man her friends have warned her about... but will he be able to mane her see that? To let down her guard and let him in?

All this makes for a great listen! There’s a lot happening for both of them!!

Amanda Stribling is excellent at defining and voicing each character. The voice she gives each one is easily discernible throughout the book!

Better than the first!

Epiphania was right, these two were made for one another!
I loved how this story came together and how old fashioned Julia was and how redeemed Hunter was...sigh, it's a beautiful little story of finding love in NYC. Great job to the author and the narrator! Bravo!

Good RomCom Great Narration!

I enjoyed listening about all of different Relationships Julia has with the other characters. This love story was a good read. I will say it took a few try’s to get into (not sure why) but glad I pushed threw. It was an interesting office romance. The Narration was excellent.

Good Ol Love Story

Love the characters and their love for one another! I understand the book going so far before things really progressed, but the wordage used for that was lacking the spunky hot, no holding back verbiage!
Narrators were Absolutley spot on and we’re amazing!!

Great performance

I must say I wasn’t sure on this book to begin with but it has a great storyline that many youngsters can learn from. It shows that there is issues with most people including the ones who seem to have many friends. Great narration.

Making it (Making It #2) was a great read by Christina Ross. Julia Jacobs has spent years struggling in New York City and is on the verge of making it big in her career. Julia💘Hunter! Fun & Enjoyable RomCom! Great Listen

I really enjoyed this book, it is well written and well told with interesting storylines that captivated me from start to end. The characters are complex and well developed. I really liked Julia, the lead female, she is smart and driven to advance herself in her career. She was recently promoted to assistant agent for one of the top talent agencies. She lands a huge contract for her first client, Pepper, a teenage social media sensation. She is set to star in a teenage reality television show run by Hunter Steele. Hunter is also looking to make a name for himself in the industry. He takes an immediate liking to Julia, but she has heard rumors of his player tendencies and does not want to get involved. I liked how he pursued her, not giving up and convincing her that he is not who he used to be. Christina Ross created a gem of a RomCom here, it was well plotted and played out nicely, from the getting to know you phase to the romance, as well as the reality show and their own careers. There is never a dull moment, plenty of drama, some angst, twists, some fun moments as well as sweet ones. I have to mention a bit more about Pepper, she was a character and a half, rambunctious at times but always telling it like it is. She is 14 going on 20, wise beyond her years. Julia was great with her, in the end we learn what Pepper’s deal is and why she is how she is. Thank you for this great story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition narrated by the talented Amanda Stribling. She brings these characters to life, give each their own voice and personality. She put a lot of heart in to her performance, you can hear the characters emotions as well as the drama of the story. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen.

Funny & Romantic

Romcoms have fast become one of my favorite sub-genres and this story has humor galore! But not only is it funny, it has a some defining moments that will bring tears to your eyes and a blossoming romance that cannot be overlooked! Julia has just received a promotion to be an assistant agent and her first job is dealing with a bratty teen who want to be on "The Terrible Teens" reality show. Of course no one wants to deal with her, so when Julia goes in for negotiation and meets Hunter Steele, she is ready to make her mark. What she isn't ready for is the attraction she feels towards Hunter! And our story begins. Ross intricately weaves a romance into this reality based TV show. While Julia and Hunter are the main characters, and their story more than romantic, the secondary characters truly make the story. Pepper is Julia's client and she her part in this book will make you cringe at times, sad intermittently and laugh at her antics. She brings life to the TV show, and her realistic life makes you stop and think about what we perceive to be true of people and what actually is true. Love when a story can be funny, steamy and have some meat to it! It is a great listen, with witty banter, a lot of romance and incredibly fun scenes.

Amanda Stribling brings it all to life with her wonderful narration. She is incredibly talented with her voices, ranging from teenage to adult with ease. She even throws an accent in there flawlessly moving between characters. I enjoyed her narration immensely.

Hard review to write.

This is the first book I've read/listened to by Christina Ross. It had promise, but missed the mark. First, a secondary character who was fourteen years old had the name of a great author, Pepper Winters. That through me off. I call Pepper a secondary character, but really, it's like the story revolved around her. She was so young, but spoke as an adult. It just wasn't believable. And she was hateful, then nice, so we make excuses for her bad behavior? No. There was so much repetition in the dialog and it felt preachy as well.

The romance was almost lost. I enjoyed the characters, Julia and Hunter. They had a slow burn romance. But I kept looking for the humor. I'm unsure of the RomCom label. Take out the sex scenes and you'd have a book for teens.

Amanda Stribling is an excellent narrator. I have enjoyed her in several books in the past. She did a good job in this one as well. But there were times I was confused who was speaking. I can't say if it was an author issue or narrator issue. She has such a young sounding voice that she does young characters well.

I wanted more of Hunter and less Pepper.

I wanted more Hunter and less of teen girls arguing. We had to wait over 30 chapters until the two leads finally had sex.
